Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
The specialized department is caring for babies who need special treatments. This section of the hospital was opened in Shahrivar 1997 as the first NICU center (neonatal special care unit) due to the high capacity of accepting high-risk pregnant mothers and the lack of a specialized and licensed special care center for newborns in Kerman.
This department is one of the most equipped newborn care centers with the use of the latest facilities and technologies for newborn care, the presence of experienced and trained nurses, and the 24-hour presence of specialist and subspecialist doctors for newborns.
The ward has 12 beds with central monitoring and an isolation room for infectious patients, and at the entrance of the ward there is a rest room for mothers, a breastfeeding room and a doctor’s room for newborns. Other facilities of the department include ventilator, C.PAP, radiant warmer, incubator, electroshock device, nebulizer devices, blood sugar test, vein detector, monitoring of vital signs and other necessary equipment.
